Snowy winter

Cincinnati has had it's fair share of snow this winter.  It's been crazy out there!  We learned very early in the season that Audrey doesn't like to be outside in the cold, so we haven't spent too much time playing out there.  You can't put gloves on a thumb-sucker and expect them to be happy.

Here are a few pictures from one of our attempts to get outside.

The best part of playing in the snow is the hot chocolate and popcorn afterwards, right?

We caught you napping, Daddy!

My sister's family was in town last weekend.  Here's a picture of Jack and Drew all ready to go out in the snow.  (Actually, I think it was mostly ice, but they were ok with that.)

Hello!

We're doing well here at the Samad household.  Life is busy, as usual, but we're going with the flow and trying to squeeze it all in.  We're enjoying this wonderful fall weather and have been outside on walks and you can often find us playing in the dirt.

Audrey is full of coos and has found her hands and feet.  While she can't quite touch her feet yet, she loves to kick and watch them move.  More on Audrey in her 3 month update coming soon.

Jack has found a new love of dirt, puddles, rocks, leaves, and pretty much anything you can find in nature.  That's why it took us 45 minutes to walk around the block yesterday.  We came home with three small bits of concrete to put in his dump trucks.  I'm so thankful for this weather and the chance we have to get out and enjoy the beauty of fall!

First Ear Infection

It's official:  Jack has his first ear infection.  While I didn't enjoy hearing that he was sick, it was so nice to be able to pin-point a reason for his crankiness and restlessness the past few days.  I'm glad I followed my gut (and listened to Jacob's promptings) and took him into the doctor.  She said that we caught it early and that he should be feeling better quickly.

He gulped down his medicine and was not happy when I told him 'all done'.  He really wanted more.

Here he is playing while I carried in the groceries today.  He doesn't seem to be too phased by this whole thing.

Enjoying the weather

Jack and I have decided to take full advantage of the unseasonably warm weather these past two days.   Yesterday we took a quick trip to the zoo, and today we enjoyed a long walk around College Hill.  We hit all of the hot-spots:  the post office, the bank, a peak into the fire house, and of course the park.

Here's a picture of Jack standing up at the reptile house.  (In reality, he's just propped up against the railing - but it counts, right?)  I think he's wondering when I'm coming back to rescue him from standing alone.

He wasn't 100% sure about the swing at the playground.  One second he loved it, and the next he was about to cry.  Literally.  It was as if he had a split second to think about being scared on the way back, and on the swing forward he was having to much fun to be frightened.
